Stockport County boss Dave Challinor is poised to snub a move to Charlton Athletic, as per a report by The Real EFL.
Stockport County’s manager as emerged on the radar of the League One side over recent days.
The Addicks are in the hunt for a replacement for Dean Holden after sacking the former Bristol City man earlier this week.
The Real EFL claim Challinor is expected to stay at Edgeley Park amid interest from the division above.
Stockport’s boss poised to stay
Pressure could start to mount on Stockport’s boss after their slow start to the new League Two season. They have aims of gaining promotion this term after losing in the play-off final and have splashed the cash over recent times.
It is a surprise to see that Challinor is not interested in a switch to The Valley but his loyalty to the Hatters has to be admired as he looks to get them promoted.
The former AFC Fylde and Hartlepool United man has done an impressive job since taking over the North West club. They won the National League title in 2022 and then finished 4th in the last campaign in the fourth tier before losing at Wembley to Carlisle United.
Stockport were beaten 3-2 last time out away at Mansfield Town and will be eager to bounce back from that disappointing loss at Field Mill with a home win over Crawley Town this weekend. They have won once so far this term and need to start picking up more points.
