Hull City make ambitious move for PL youngster who wants to work with Rosenior

Hull City are targeting a move for Aston Villa youngster Jaden Philogene, as per Hull Live.

Philogene, 21, spent last season on loan at Cardiff City.

The young winger played 37 games for the Bluebirds and contributed to five goals in the second tier.

Philogene can play on either flank and has registered many promising campaigns in Aston Villa’s youth setup. Last season was his first proper taste at senior football and in a poor Cardiff City side he did quite well.

Now, it is said that the Tigers are hopeful of landing Philogene this week with the player keen on the move. The youngster is reportedly happy to play under Liam Rosenior and is excited by the prospect of challenging for promotion with the Tigers.

Who is this?

A statement of intent

Managing to pull this one off would show huge ambition from Hull City.

They’ve had a decent summer as it is and look more than capable of pushing the limits of the Championship this time around. Adding the 21-year-old attacker to their ranks would be a huge capture and one that would certainly excite fans.

Rosenior’s side have started the season with two wins in the opening three games. Whilst it is still early days, the signs are promising so far.

The transfer window has two weeks left and it will be hoped there’s developments on this front soon. Philogene would thrive in a Rosenior side who play a more attacking brand of football.

The young winger knows what to expect from the second tier now and that would only help him should this move be finalised this summer.

Up next for Hull City is a clash against Bristol City this Friday night.
