Barnsley host Peterborough United in League One tomorrow night.
Barnsley welcome Peterborough United to Oakwell tomorrow night, for what should be an exciting clash between two teams eyeing up promotion to the Championship.
The Tykes won their opening league game of the season 7-0 at home v Port Vale but were held to a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Posh meanwhile have won both their opening two league games, and both by 1-0 scorelines; at Reading on the opening day of the season and then at home v Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…
Luke Phelps
“Posh are looking pretty formidable this season. Reading and Charlton are two very tough opening games but they’ve got through both of them with solid wins – Barnsley though might be their toughest test yet.
“The Tykes are formidable at Oakwell and they’ll want a return to winning ways this weekend. Both teams can score goals and so I think we could see a few in this one.
“It’s very tough to split these two, but I fancy Barnsley to claim a narrow home win.”
Score prediction: Barnsley 2-1 Peterborough United
James Ray
“Barnsley will be looking to get back to winning ways after a cup defeat to Tranmere Rovers and a draw against Bristol Rovers at the weekend. At home, they’re a tough side to break down but Posh showed last season that they’ve got what it takes to get one over the Tykes at Oakwell.
“I’ve been impressed with how resilient Posh have been at the back so far this season too. Two 1-0 wins against decent opposition is nothing to frown about so they should be confident coming into this one.
“I think their winning run ends here though. I feel they’ll be able to take a good point back to London Road though.”
Score prediction: Barnsley 1-1 Peterborough United
