Rotherham United boss Matt Taylor told Paul Davis last night that a decision on trialist Andre Green will be made ‘in the next 24 hours or so’.
25-year-old Green’s trial with Rotherham United has been well-documented and he’s caught the eye of supporters so far.
In fact, against Sheffield United on Tuesday night, the former Aston Villa man netted a scorpion kick, topping off a successful stint with the Millers. Green is available for nothing after his Slovan Bratislava deal expired earlier this summer, heading for pastures new after 26 goals and seven assists in 81 games for the club.
Following last night’s game, Millers boss Taylor was quizzed on what would be next for Green and he told reporter Davis that a decision will be made ‘in the next 24 hours or so’.
#rufc decision on trialist Andre Green in next 24 hours or so, says boss Matt Taylor.

While stressing that there was nothing concrete said, Davis went on to add that he would be very surprised if Green wasn’t snapped up by Rotherham.
I must stress this is not set in stone …. but just transcribing #rufc boss Matt Taylor's quotes on Andre Green and, reading between the lines, I'd be surprised if there isn't an offer made.

Back on English shores?
Prior to his spell with Slovan Bratislava, Green had spent his entire career in England. Much of his time was in the EFL too, either with Aston Villa or out on loan elsewhere.
He played 48 times for Villa’s first-team while also enduring loan spells with Preston North End, Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday before moving to the continent.
Green mainly plays on the left wing but he can operate on the right too. He’s also played centrally as a striker with some success, netting eight goals in his 15 outings through the middle. After his eye-catching trial with Rotherham United, the hope will be that he can carry that form into the new season if he is offered a deal.
