Everton, Newcastle United, West Ham keeping tabs on Sheffield United man, report claims

Sheffield United striker Iliman Ndiaye is wanted by Premier League sides Everton, Newcastle United and West Ham, according to reports.

The Blades currently sit in 2nd place of the Championship table – four points ahead of Middlesbrough in 3rd. However, it was another disappointing weekend for United who were beaten 1-0 at home by play-off hopefuls Luton Town, making it four defeats from their previous six league games as their automatic promotion cushion gets smaller.

One player who has already shown this season he can be top flight quality is forward Ndiaye, who netted the winner against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup at the beginning of the month. The 23-year-old was previously subject to winter interest from Everton, with the Daily Mail reporting they were mulling over a £15million offer in January.

But now it seems their interest has returned with the Sunday Mirror reporting (via Goodison News) that the Toffees have retained their interest in Ndiaye, with Newcastle and West Ham joining the chasing pack. Ndiaye has so far scored 11 and assisted seven in 36 Championship outings this season.

Who is this?

Summer move?

Ndiaye playing in the Premier League next season is certainly on the cards but for what team as of yet remains unclear. With so much of the season still left to play this transfer story could continuously change.

Despite their form, the Blades still have a top-flight return in their hands, if Heckingbottom’s side are promoted it would be extremely unlikely to see the Senegal international head elsewhere.

But should United ultimately fail in their promotion bid, Ndiaye could be on the move but with Everton and West Ham embroiled in a scrap to stave off relegation to the Championship, it’s completely too early to make an assumption on where Ndiaye will play next season.

Sheffield United travel to Sunderland on Wednesday, with kick-off at 8pm and the game live on Sky Sports.
