QPR, ‘A huge chance’ – Blackpool v QPR prediction: The72

‘A huge chance’ – Blackpool v QPR prediction: The72

Blackpool host QPR in the Championship tomorrow night.

Blackpool welcome QPR to Bloomfield Road in a crunch game at the bottom of the table.

The Tangerines enter the midweek clash in 22nd place – six points from safety after they were beaten 2-0 on Saturday away to Bristol City. Mick McCarthy’s side were unable to build on their goalless draw against runaway league leaders Burnley the weekend before, with that draw the only point that Blackpool have picked up in the previous four games.

QPR on the other hand will be buoyed following the weekend’s 1-0 victory over Watford. The win lifted the R’s up to 19th in the table and ten points clear of Blackpool in the relegation zone – it was QPR’s first win since pre-Christmas in all competitions.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Cameron Winstanley

Blackpool would’ve been eyeing this as the perfect matchup to grab three points and drag QPR into a relegation scrap.

“But the weekend’s results mean defeat for the hosts will likely see the Rs over the hill towards safety, with a 13 point gap opening up should Gareth Ainsworth make it back-to-back wins.

“The R’s have got the winning feeling back but may have to settle for a draw this time round, which would certainly favour the visitors.”

Score prediction: Blackpool 1-1 QPR

Who is this?

James Ray

“This is a huge chance for QPR to pick up back-to-back wins. That win against Watford needs to fire them on to a strong end to the season so Ainsworth can really build some momentum in West London.

“Against Blackpool, they should be confident of getting a result too. The Tangerines are winless in four and while they’ve not lost any of their last five home games in the Championship, QPR can take all three points from this one.

“It’s a tough one to call and Blackpool could easily claim a valuable win if QPR are off their game, but I’m going to back the visitors.”

Score prediction: Blackpool 1-2 QPR
