Reading host Millwall in the Championship this weekend.
Reading see Millwall head to Berkshire in the Championship on Saturday. The Royals lost against 2nd place Sheffield United in midweek and they have another tough assignment this weekend in 7th place Millwall.
Gary Rowett’s side have enjoyed a strong 2023 so far but they’ve now won just one of their last four in the league, losing 3-2 at home to Norwich City in their last outing.
Paul Ince’s Reading meanwhile have lost three of their last four in the Championship – all three of which without scoring – and they sit in 15th place of the table as things stand.
Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…
“Both these sides have had a very tough run of games of late. But Millwall are battling for a play-off spot whilst Reading are arguably battling to stay up, with this apparent points deduction looming over them.
“So there’s still a lot for both teams to play for, though Millwall will certainly go into this one as the favourites. They’ve looked very good this year and they have a couple of in form players in Tom Bradshaw and Zian Flemming, so I’m leaning towards Millwall for this one.”
Score prediction: Reading 1-2 Millwall
“For me, Millwall should have the edge in this one. They’ve only lost one of their last five on the road and I can see them maintaining that strong record here, even though the Royals have proven a tough side to beat at home at times.
“In terms of quality though, the Lions certainly have the edge. There’s a reason they’re fighting for promotion and no longer languishing around mid-table, and I can see them putting their quality on show tomorrow afternoon.
“They’ve got to be wary heading to Berkshire, but I’ll go for a Millwall victory.”
Score prediction: Reading 0-2 Millwall
