‘One of the best’ – Stoke City v Blackburn Rovers prediction: The72

Stoke City host Blackburn Rovers in the Championship tomorrow night.

Stoke City welcome Blackburn Rovers to the bet365 Stadium tomorrow evening. The Potters go into this one on the back of a resounding 5-1 win away at Sunderland last time out, with Alex Neil’s side having won three of their last five in the league to move up into 16th place of the table.

Rovers meanwhile are one of the form teams in the league. They’ve won their last five in all competitions having beat Sheffield United in their last game – Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side are unbeaten in their last 11 in all competitions and currently sit in 4th place of the Championship table.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Luke Phelps

Stoke City look like they’ve definitely improved in recent weeks. But the inconsistencies remain and after such a resounding win last time out I think it’ll be difficult for them to replicate anything like it – especially against this current Blackburn side.

“Rovers are looking more and more like their earlier selves from this season and they’re one of the best away teams in the league – only Burnley have a better record on the road.

“But I can’t split the two sides going into this one, so I’ll say draw, but I think it’ll be a good game.”

Score prediction: Stoke City 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

“At last, Stoke look like they might’ve turned a corner. Yes, they’re still looking to patch together even a two-game winning run, but their performance against Sunderland was a really impressive one.

“Blackburn’s visit presents a real stern test for the Potters though. Rovers have stuttered around February previously but this time around, they put together one of their best runs of the season to strengthen their grip on a play-off spot.

“Both sides are riding a big wave of momentum but for me, Blackburn will just have the edge. This will be an intriguing tie though.”

Score prediction: Stoke City 1-2 Blackburn Rovers
