The Royals will be looking to bounce back from their 5-0 thrashing at the weekend away at Middlesbrough which inflicted their third defeat in five games.
Sheffield United on the other hand will see a result from Tuesday’s game as vital following their 1-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, which saw their 2nd placed cushion above Middlesbrough reduced to just four points.
Paul Heckingbottom’s side have lost three of their previous four games and need to bounce back to ensure their strong position in the automatic promotion spots is regained.

“Paul Ince will be urging his team to bounce back following their demolition at the hands of Boro at the weekend and will hope the Madejski Stadium will give them the edge. The Royals have picked up seven from a possible nine points recently at home.
“The Blades on the other hand know nothing but a win will do, with their recent form leaving the door open for them to be caught in the automatic spots.
“Despite their poor run of form, they’ll be confident of following up the 4-0 win earlier in the season with another victory. It’s difficult to look past anything but an away win in their circumstances.”

“Sheffield United are stumbling and they’re in danger of being dragged out of the automatic promotion spots at this rate. Not only are Middlesbrough close, but Blackburn Rovers have pulled themselves right back into the fight over recent weeks too.
“Against a struggling Reading side, the Blades have a good chance of getting back on track. And, with this being a game in hand, they simply have to win if they want to settle the nerves.
“With Reading out of form too, this should swing in the visitors’ favour.”
