Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal would be uninterested in the vacant Hull City job, but he might fancy the Wolves opening, reports claim.
Both Hull City and Wolves sacked their managers over the last round of fixtures.
Hull parted ways with Shota Arveladze just a few hours before they faced Luton Town on Friday night whilst Wolves let Bruno Lage go after their defeat v West Ham yesterday.
Since, former Sheffield Wednesday boss Carvalhal has been linked with the Hull City job.
Reports coming out of Europe though (via Sport Witness) suggest that Carvalhal would not entertain the idea of joining Hull City, and that he would be more interested in the Wolves job.
It’s also being reported that Carvalhal has left his current club Al Wahda.
Hull or Wolves…
Obviously, the Wolves opening will be an attractive one to a lot of managers out there, especially Portuguese managers like Carvalhal.
But that’s not to write off the Hull City job. The Tigers under owner Acun Ilicali spent a lot of money over the summer and there’s certainly be managers and coaches out there who will be interested in that job.
And like how Wolves have brought in a lot of Portuguese players over the past few years, and Portuguese managers, Hull City signed a lot of Turkish players form the Turkish Super Lig over the summer, which might suggest that a Turkish coach would be the best bet for Hull City.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Ilicali opts for another manager with no Championship experience, but who might have knowledge of Turkish football which could bring the best out of Hull’s players.
The Tigers return to action v Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night.
