Sunderland and Blackpool among clubs keen on exciting Manchester United prospect

Sunderland and Blackpool are interested in Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo, according to reporter Jonas Hen Shrag.

Diallo, 20, plays for Manchester United and has been on the fringes of the first-team for some time. Last season, however, he was on loan at Rangers where he scored three in 27 games across all competitions.

Sunderland set to sign Costa Rican international, claims reporter

The Ivory Coast international has made nine appearances for the Red Devils’ first-team, scoring once and assisting once. The natural right-winger moved to England from Atalanta in Italy where he came through the academy scoring 38 goals and earning 26 assists across all squads.

Now, it has been reported Sunderland and Blackpool in the Championship hold interest in the prospect, alongside Anderlecht, Besiktas and Sampdoria in Europe.

A fight for the signature…

Diallo is a hugely exciting player and he could really benefit from consistent game time, which he could earn in England’s second tier.

The 20-year-old is yet to fully adapt to senior football, but the Football League could be the perfect place to start his journey. Both Sunderland and Blackpool will be wanting to retain their Championship status this season and Diallo would go some way to helping them achieve that.

The Black Cats have more options in Diallo’s position, so the Seasiders may have an edge when guaranteeing game time, but Sunderland will have the edge when it comes to facilities.

Both Championship clubs will have a battle on their hands to tempt him away from some teams in Europe’s top divisions, and it’ll be interesting to see how this one develops.

The transfer deadline is on September 1st and teams are running out of time to make their final additions before having to wait until 2023.
