Watford have accepted a bid of £20m from Nottingham Forest for star forward Emmanuel Dennis, The Athletic’s Adam Leventhal has said.
Watford forward Dennis has been at the centre of plenty of transfer speculation this summer.
His exploits in the Premier League were unable to keep the Hornets in the top-flight but there was no doubt that he proved himself as a strong performer in the division after his arrival from Belgian outfit Club Brugge last summer.
Many would have thought the Nigerian star might have returned to the Premier League already, but he has remained with Watford for their first two games of the 2022/23 season. Now though, it seems an exit is moving closer.
As per The Athletic’s Adam Leventhal, Watford have now accepted a bid of around £2om for Dennis from Nottingham Forest.
The final talks over the deal are ongoing but personal terms are not expected to be an issue as the Hornets prepare to lose one of their standout players.

A lengthy saga nears its end…
Dennis has already proven he’s a cut above Championship level, so the news of his departure won’t be a surprise.
The interest in his services has been persistent but with the crunch period of the window approaching, it looks as though Watford are in for a welcome cash influx. The club will now have the means to search for a replacement if they see fit and Rob Edwards will have some good funds to invest in other areas of his squad if he wishes.
Fans will be sad to see a player of Dennis’ excitement and quality move on, but it will be one that was expected by the majority.
