Sheffield United closing in on Premier League signing

Sheffield United are closing in on a season-long loan swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Reda Khadra, as per Alan Nixon.

Khadra, 21, spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

The former Borussia Dortmund prospect featured heavily throughout the 2021/22 Championship season. Khadra made 27 Championship appearances, scoring four and assisting three for the Rovers.

Khadra impressed fans last season following his five-goal contributions in six Premier League 2 appearances the year before. Khadra is a pacey winger who has the potential to be one of the most exciting attackers in the second tier.

Sheffield United have been interested in signing the German and now, it seems the Blades are finally closing in on a deal.

Nixon reports on his Patreon that Khadra has headed north for the finish touches to be put on his move.

A great addition…

Paul Heckingbottom’s side finished inside the play-offs last season, but they didn’t have enough to earn promotion.

This time out they’ll be hoping to go one step further and secure promotion back to the Premier League in what will be an incredibly competitive Championship season.

Khadra’s Championship experience should help him settle into life at the Blades as he bids to enjoy another strong loan campaign away from parent club Brighton.

The season is edging closer and the arrival of Khadra before the opening day could help the Blades start on the front foot. If Khadra can hit the ground running, the momentum could see him have a great year in the second-tier.

Sheffield United begin their season with a game against promotion-rivals Watford and if Khadra is a Blades player by then he could make an instant impact next Monday.
