Next Burnley signing undergoing medical today after CJ Egan-Riley arrival

Manchester City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis is set to undergo a medical with Burnley today, reports Football Insider.

Harwood-Bellis, 20, has been heavily linked with a move to Burnley for a number of weeks now.

The City youngster has previously spent time out on loan with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City in the Championship, and also at Anderlecht where he played under new Clarets boss Vincent Kompany.

The Belgian has made a strong start to life at Turf Moor having brought in Scott Twine, Luke McNally and now CJ Egan-Riley, who was announced as the club’s latest signing this morning.

And now Football Insider has revealed that Harwood-Bellis is set to undergo a medical with Burnley, having agreed a deal to join the club – Football Insider’s report fails to say whether the move is a temporary or permanent one, but previous reports have suggested that it’ll be a loan deal.

Reports via Lancashire Telegraph yesterday also claimed that the Clarets have agreed a deal to sign Standard Liege forward Jackson Muleka.

On the up…

Despite Kompany’s arrival at Turf Moor taking a while to become official, the club have made some really strong signings so far and look to have more on the horizon.

Few knew what to expect from Burnley going into the new season but after the calibre of signings made so far, Burnley will surely be one of the favourites for the title next season.

Harwood-Bellis in particular looks like a decent signing and the defender will surely be excited to see what he can learn from Kompany on the training pitch.

With Muleka seemingly close to signing as well, Burnley have just about signed an entirely new spine this summer, so expect the Lancashire side to be well up in the Championship standings next season – providing they can all hit the ground running under Kompany.
