Brentford are close to sealing a deal for Hull City‘s prized forward Keane Lewis-Potter, Sky Sports News has claimed.
Hull City star Lewis-Potter has been consistently linked with a move away from the MKM Stadium this summer.
His starring performances for the Tigers across last season have seen him draw plenty of attention, with Brentford one of the sides heavily linked. The 21-year-old managed 13 goals and four assists in 48 games across all competitions in the 2021/22 campaign and now, it has been claimed a transfer is moving closer.
Sky Sports News (Transfer Centre Live, 01.07.22, 10:42) have stated that Brentford are ‘close to finalising‘ a deal to take Lewis-Potter to the Premier League ahead of the new season in a deal worth up to £20m.
Hull City will land £16m up front, with the rest coming through performance-based add-ons.
The prospect of playing regular first-team football in the Premier League has left Lewis-Potter keen to make the move, and the Bees are now hoping to wrap up a deal.
Ready for the step up?
Lewis-Potter introduced himself as one of the EFL’s most promising talents in the 2020/21 campaign.
He starred as Hull City won the League One title, scoring 15 goals and laying on six assists in his first full season of senior action. Last season’s exploits only further cemented his place among the EFL’s ones to watch too, and it seems he is now poised to ply his trade in the Premier League.
There’s no doubt that Lewis-Potter has the potential to become a top player in the Premier League. It may take a little bit of time to adjust and to really get the best out of him, but Brentford will be a great place for him to take the next step in his career should a move go through.
