Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan is not a target for Doncaster Rovers, the Doncaster Free Press has reported.
The 24-year-old is also said to be on the radar of Scottish Premiership side St. Johnstone following his time in League Two with Tranmere Rovers last season. Now, the Doncaster Free Press has reported that Doohan is not a player of interest to Gary McSheffrey and co.
It is said that a new goalkeeper is not currently on McSheffrey’s shopping list, with Jonny Mitchell, Louis Jones and Ben Bottomley all currently options at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Doohan’s links with a return to England’s fourth tier come after a strong spell with Tranmere Rovers.
He endured spells on the bench towards the start and the end of the 2021/22 season but he was number one for much of the campaign. He kept 13 clean sheets in 30 League Two games, conceding 30 times in the process.
Making moves in the market…
After letting a number of players leave at the end of their deals, McSheffrey has already made some strong additions to his Doncaster Rovers side as he gears them up for League Two football.
George Miller, Harrison Biggins and Luke Molyneux have all arrived on free transfers, with all three previously showing that they can be valuable players at this level.
It will be hoped that McSheffrey can get Rovers back on track following a dismal 2022/23 campaign.
More signings will be needed ahead of the new season, but it seems as though Doohan will not be one making his way to Doncaster Rovers.
