Watford learn club’s position over potential €15m transfer swoop for 21-year-old AC Milan target

Watford have been linked with Palmeiras’ midfield star Danilo, though it is said that the Brazilian giants deem their €15m valuation too low.

Watford’s new boss Rob Edwards will be determined to make his mark on the squad at Vicarage Road.

Plenty of players have already been linked with a move to the Hornets, though they are still waiting on a breakthrough as it stands. One player reported to be on their radar is Brazilian midfielder Danilo, and an update on the links has now emerged from Goal Brazil.

It is said that Italian giants AC Milan and French outfit Marseille are monitoring the talented 21-year-old.

However, Palmeiras have a €100m release clause included in Danilo’s contract, which is successfully fending off interest. Watford are said to have been willing to pay €15m for the midfielder, though the Brazilian giants consider this too low.

Watford’s previous success in Brazil…

The Hornets have shown the South American market can be a fruitful one in years gone by.

It was Watford who brought Richarlison over to England from Fluminese, giving him the chance to make a name for himself at Vicarage Road before selling him onto Everton, where he has become a big hit.

Joao Pedro also arrived from Fluminense and while he hasn’t hit the heights of Richarlison just yet, he remains an exciting prospect and looks to have a promising future ahead of him at a good level in the game.

It seems as though Danilo won’t become the next Brazilian star at Watford given Goal Brazil’s latest report. However, he looks to be a serious talent and could be one to watch out for in years to come.
