Norwich City’s Przemyslaw Placheta is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs, with Birmingham City one of the teams keen, according to reports.
Placheta, 24, featured just 12 times for Norwich City in the Premier League last time round.
The Polish international failed to register any goal contributions and undoubtedly struggled as his side succumbed to yet another relegation from the top flight.
And now, reports (via Eastern Daily Press) say that Birmingham City are among a number of Championship clubs keen on signing Placheta this summer.
But Eastern Daily Press go on to say that any move for Placheta this summer will likely be an initial loan move, with a view to making the transfer permanent.
Birmingham City remain in takeover talks and so their summer transfer business has seemingly taken a backseat.
Norwich City’s summer business has been slow-moving too, with Dean Smith looking likely to offload some names this summer and attempt a rebuild of the club.
A keen signing?
Placheta is a right-sided midfielder who can also play in a wing-back role. He’s a player who boasts great technical ability and he’s previously proven himself in the Championship with the Canaries, featuring 26 times across their promotion-winning 2020/21 campaign.
As it stands though, the Pole is a rotational player at Carrow Road. He’s perhaps some who Smith could offload this summer in a bid to refine his side, and at 24 years old he’s someone who could yet have plenty to offer.
Birmingham City need to get their takeover finalised soon so that they have time to bring in some fresh faces this summer – Lee Bowyer’s side struggled last time round and some new blood is definitely needed if they’re to avoid another relegation battle next season.
