Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley has already made a breakthrough in the summer transfer market, bringing midfielder Marlon Pack back to his hometown on a free transfer.
He won’t be looking to stop there though, with plenty of room for fresh additions in his Portsmouth squad.
Plenty of players have been linked with the League One side, one of which being young Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Carl Rushworth. The talented shot-stopper impressed with Walsall and has been touted for a step up the Football League, with Portsmouth said to be keen.
Goalkeeper is a position Portsmouth need to bolster after losing Gavin Bazunu, hence why West Brom’s Josh Griffiths has also been linked along with Rushworth.
Although last season with Lincoln City wasn’t his best, Griffiths looks to be a real talent for the future. He thrived in a previous stint with Cheltenham Town and has impressed in West Brom’s youth academy.
Wing-back Mickel Miller is attracting interest after his departure from Rotherham United and Portsmouth are reportedly among those keen.
A whole host of rival League One sides are also interested though. Lincoln City and Cambridge United are eyeing up the 26-year-old while Plymouth Argyle, Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town have all held talks with Miller, it has been claimed.
Attacking additions are said to be on Pompey’s radar too.
Morgan Whittaker and Liam Cullen, both of Championship side Swansea City, are said to still be on Portsmouth’s radar this summer.
Lastly, another forward linked with Portsmouth is Kion Etete. The towering Spurs starlet made a good impression in spells with Cheltenham Town and Northampton Town last season and is now said to be at the top of Pompey’s striker shopping list, with a permanent move possible.
