Luton Town linked with 5 potential new signings ahead of July including ‘Frank Lampard-esque’ Sunderland target

Luton Town have been wasting no time in building an impressive 2021/22 campaign, already making three new signings ahead of the new season.

Towering goalkeeper Matt Macey, left-sided speedster Alfie Doughty and prolific striker Cauley Woodrow have already made moves to Kenilworth Road this summer.

But Luton Town won’t be looking to stop there. Nathan Jones has more areas he needs to bolster and plenty of names have been mentioned as targets for the Hatters.

One of which is young AFC Wimbledon star Jack Rudoni.

The 21-year-old midfielder labelled as ‘Frank Lampard-esque’ by reporter Edmund Brack is attracting plenty of interest. Luton Town and Millwall are both keen, while Sunderland and Huddersfield Town have already seen bids knocked back (Daily Mail). The starlet looks likely to be on the move this summer, and whoever signs him will have a serious player on their hands.

Another player linked with a whole host of clubs including Luton Town is defender Alex Cochrane. He starred on loan for Hearts last season and QPR and Coventry City have also been credited with interest.

However, it seems as though it will be Hearts that secure his services on a permanent deal.

Luton Town have also been mentioned as one of the sides keen on Ipswich Town’s wantaway forward Tyreece Simpson. He looks set to be on the move this summer and the Hatters have been linked alongside Middlesbrough and Huddersfield Town.

Before the signing of new ‘keeper Macey, Burnley man Will Norris was mentioned as a Luton Town target by Alan Nixon. Jones will likely need more than one goalkeeper, so that may not completely rule out a swoop for Norris despite Macey’s arrival.

Finally, Crystal Palace youngster Luke Plange has been linked with a loan move to Kenilworth Road.

The talented striker, also wanted by Coventry City, joined Palace from Derby County in January but returned to Pride Park to see out the campaign but could head out on loan once again this summer.
