Ipswich Town playmaker attracting summer transfer interest

Ipswich Town youngster Armando Dobra has emerged as a transfer target for Chesterfield, the Derbyshire Times has claimed.

Ipswich Town are facing another busy summer transfer window as Kieran McKenna looks to make his mark on the squad.

Freddie Ladapo, Dominic Ball, Greg Leigh and Tyreece John-Jules have already made their way through the doors at Portman Road, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some players head for the exit this summer.

Now, it has been claimed that one player attracting interest in young forward Dobra.

The Derbyshire Times states that the Albanian youth international is wanted by former Ipswich Town boss Paul Cook at National League side Chesterfield this summer.

The Tractor Boys’ stance on a potential deal is not mentioned in the report, nor is it said if their interest is in a loan or permanent deal.

What’s next for Dobra?

Dobra’s current contract with Ipswich Town runs out at the end of this season, so while he is seen as a promising talent for the future, you get the feeling the 2022/23 campaign could be an important one for his future.

The tricky 21-year-old has been in and around the senior side at Portman Road for some time but it’s never really felt like he’s made a breakthrough. This is despite making 30 appearances, as he’s never really had a sustained run in the starting XI.

There’s plenty of time for Dobra to maximise his potential, but it could be the right time for him to forge a career elsewhere if he isn’t going to get regular game time under McKenna.
