Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has wasted no time in bringing in some fresh faces, and he won’t be looking to stop at the four he has signed so far.
Freddie Ladapo, Dominic Ball, Greg Leigh and Tyreece John-Jules (loan) have all linked up with the Tractor Boys this summer.
Ipswich Town remain in the market for further additions though, with a few more players said to be on McKenna’s radar as July nears.
One player reported to be on Ipswich Town’s shopping list is Hearts forward Liam Boyce. The 31-year-old has been a goalscorer everywhere he’s been with the exception of a stint in Germany with Werder Bremen II, impressing in Scotland last season too.
He managed 16 goals and five assists for Hearts last time around but Ipswich could face competition from Aberdeen for his signature.
Goalkeeper Sam Walker, formerly of Colchester United, is also said to be a target for Ipswich Town (Football Scotland, Transfer News Live, 21.06.22, 19:18).
He would likely come in as cover and competition for Christian Walton, but it remains to be seen if the link develops into anything serious.
Finally, it has been said that midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson remains an option for Ipswich Town. The 23-year-old has been told he is free to leave Bristol City this summer and a permanent move to Portman Road has been widely speculated after a promising loan spell with the club last season.
He remains an option for McKenna and co as the transfer window rumbles on and with a move away from Ashton Gate on the cards, it will be interesting to see if Bakinson ends up returning to East Anglia.
