Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury is being heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer.
Choudhury, 24, featured only six times in the Premier League last season. The Englishman has fallen out of favour under Brendan Rodgers and now looks set to seal a temporary move away from the club this summer.
A number of Championship clubs have been linked with him, with West Brom being the most closely linked side so far and with Middlesbrough having also joined the race.
The latest on Choudhury’s future…
A recent report from BirminghamLive revealed that the Baggies would likely have to wait until later on in this summer’s transfer window if they’re to bring in Choudhury.
But Leicester City do look set to offload him this summer, be it soon or later on in the window, according to Leicester City reporter Jordan Blackwell.
Also, the Foxes reportedly want any club who signs Choudhury on loan this summer to pay 80% of his wages.
And West Brom aren’t the only side keen on Choudhury. There’s obviously Middlesbrough who are being linked but the likes of Nottingham Forest and Everton have now been mentioned as possible destinations for the midfielder.
They could be better prepared than the likes of West Brom and Boro to pay 80% of Choudhury’s Leicester City wages and the Foxes might yet prefer that he go to a Premier League side rather than a Championship one.
For both the Baggies and Middlesbrough, it’s a difficult scenario and waiting until later on in the summer doesn’t guarantee that they sign Choudhury.
Both sides need plenty of additions this summer with hopes of top-six finishes next time round.
