Presenting the inside scoop on the latest Football League news

Millwall and Luton Town keen on midfielder who scored 12 goals in L1 last season

Millwall and Luton Town are both keen on AFC Wimbledon’s Jack Rudoni, reports Daily Mail.

Rudoni, 22, has recently become the subject of interest from Championship clubs.

Reports emerged yesterday claiming that all of Bristol City, Huddersfield Town and Sunderland had had bids surpassing £1million for Rudoni rejected by AFC Wimbledon.

The club were relegated from League One last season, but Rudoni still managed to impress – he scored 12 goals and assisted five in his 41 league appearances for the Dons.

New manager Johnnie Jackson looks as though he’ll have to part ways with Rudoni this summer and it looks like the Championship might be where Rudoni is heading.

Daily Mail now say that Luton Town and Millwall are both keen on the midfielder, with both sides surely having play-off ambitions ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

The same report also adds Southampton to the growing list of Rudoni’s suitors.

Race heating up…

AFC Wimbledon would have been expecting interest in Rudoni this summer, but they might not have been expecting so many Championship sides to be linked.

This is good news for them, as the transfer chase heating up will drive up Rudoni’s transfer value. For Millwall and Luton Town, Rudoni would be a quality signing and certainly one for the future, and beating their Championship rivals to the potential signing would be a huge statement of intent.

And both clubs could do with some added creativity in midfield, especially Millwall with Jed Wallace’s future still unclear, but with the likes of Sunderland, Huddersfield and Bristol City all already failing with £1million bids, what the true asking price for Rudoni is remains a mystery.
