Derby County had the threat of a points deduction hanging over their heads after their failure to correctly file their financial reports and to pay playing staff on time.

Derby County saw that suspended until next season dependent on certain deadlines being met. However, a decision last night to seek administration threw a whole different light on matters at Pride Park.

That decision could see the Rams deducted up to 21 points in a move that would mark them out as clear favourites for relegation. Today against Stoke City was vital for Wayne Rooney’s side – the 2-1 win a Godsend.

A worst-case scenario where 21 points were deducted would see Derby bottom on -11 points. From a position like that they’d need to perform 18 points better than current 21st side Swansea to escape the drop.

Every game from now on in will be vital and Derby County fans will know that it will be a case of not dropping points that will see them stay up whatever the deduction is to be.

However, for now it was all about the 2-1 win at Pride Park against Stoke City. Here is how some Rams fans responded to the welcome three points.
