Stoke City set to swoop for Brighton-bound attacker Abdallah Sima on loan

Stoke City are eyeing up a loan swoop for Senegalese forward Abdallah Sima, who looks set to head out on loan once his move to Brighton and Hove Albion has been sealed.

Sparta Prague forward Abdallah Sima has been heavily linked with a big move this summer following his breakout campaign with the Czech side.

With the window slamming shut later today, it has been claimed that Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion are set to secure a £7m deal for the 20-year-old.

However, he reportedly will head straight out on loan once his move his sealed, with Stoke City set to swoop in.

The Athletic reporter Andy Taylor has said Stoke City is his “expected destination”.

While his move to Brighton is yet to be confirmed, it seems Graham Potter has plans in place for the versatile attacker.

Starring in Europe

Significant interest in Sima has been drummed up after he enjoyed a thoroughly successful 2020/21 campaign with Sparta Prague.

Across all competitions, the forward netted 16 goals in 33 outings last season, also chipping in with six assists. He starred out on the right-wing, also impressing as a striker and on the left-hand side.

If Sima is to make a loan move to Stoke City after joining Brighton, he would become the second Seagulls talent to link up with Michael O’Neill’s side this summer.

Defender Leo Ostigard joined the club on a temporary basis earlier this summer, so it will be interesting to see if this is the beginning of a fruitful link between the two sides.
