Gloucester City have signed Max Sheaf following his departure from Hull City

The non-league side have handed the midfielder a one-year deal, as announced by their official club website.

Sheaf, who is 21-years-old, was released by Hull at the end of last season.

He has spent the past few months as a free agent but has found a new home now in the National League North.

‘Easy decision’

The youngster has said: “It was a really easy decision for me to pick Gloucester, even though there was interest from elsewhere.

“After sitting down the gaffer he explained the ambition and the style of play he wants to promote and that made the decision very simple. It’s an exciting club to be part of.”

Career to date

Sheaf spent time in the academy at Arsenal before linking up with Hull’s youth ranks.

He made his debut for the Tigers on the final day of the 2018/19 season in the Championship against Bristol City and went on to play a further five times.

The midfielder spent time during the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Cheltenham Town and made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Robins.

Sheaf then had a loan spell at Torquay United during the second-half of last term and played five games as Gary Johnson’s side reached the National League Play-Off final.
