Blackpool boss Neil critchley will be looking to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad this summer.
The ex-Liverpool Under-23’s could target some players from his former club as he gears up for his first full season in charge of the Seasiders.
One player he could target from Anfield is Wales international Ben Woodburn.
The winger has spent this season on loan in League One at Oxford United and might be available for loan once again next term for more first-team experience.
Woodburn, who is 20 years old, has made just 13 appearances in all competitions for the U’s this season due to injury and could do with another loan spell away to regain his fitness.
Blackpool would be ideal for the wide man. They are an ambitious third tier side aiming to get back to the Championship and he would be guaranteed game time at Bloomfield Road if he is fit.
Woodburn joined Liverpool’s academy in 2007 and has risen up through their youth ranks. He was handed his senior debut for the Reds in November 2016 in a Premier League fixture against Sunderland at the age of just 17.
He has gone onto make a further 10 appearances for Liverpool, scoring once against Leeds United in the League Cup.
Woodburn has spent time out on loan in the past at Sheffield United as well as Oxford. With it likely he could be shipped out again this summer, could Critchley look to use his contacts at Anfield to make an impressive signing?
