Ex-West Brom and Gillingham defender released by Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town have confirmed on their official club website that former West Brom and Gillingham defender Bradley Garmston will leave the club at the end of his contract with the Mariners.

With the end of the League Two season now confirmed, clubs have moved to announce their retained and released lists. The latest club to do so is Ian Holloway’s Grimsby Town.

Ther Mariners have moved to confirm that nine players will be leaving the club this summer, with their contracts coming to an end. One of the nine that will be departing the club is former West Brom and Gillingham defender Bradley Garmston, who leaves Blundell Road after joining in the January transfer window.

Alongside Garmston is Harry Davis, Brandon Buckley, Elliott Whitehouse, Elliot Grandin, Jake Hessenthaler, Harry Cardwell, Ahkeem Rose and Jordan Cook, who will also be leaving the club this summer.

In his time with the club Garmston notched up five appearances, scoring one goal in the process. Garmston had spent almost five years with Gillingham but now, he will be looking for his third club of the year. The left-back is now 26, making his breakthrough into senior football after coming through West Brom’s youth academy.

In the club’s statement, Gillingham expressed their thanks to all the players leaving, placing on record their best wishes for the futures of the departing players.
