Leeds United linked to two teen PSG swoop as French side look to loan

Leeds United are a side definitely on the up with the Bielsa Effect kicking in for the second season in succession. Last season the legendary Argentinian drove them close before they lost out to Derby County in the Play-Off Semi-Final. This season the Argentinian has them at the top of the Championship pile with football in COVID-19 lockdown. Due to him, the Whites are looked at differently by those in football.

This increased profile is allowing them to be seen as an entity that can be trusted and Bielsa’s presence and ethos are trusted by many high up in football such as Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola. As such, teams look favourably on Leeds United when it comes to considering sending young players there. According to a report on 90MIN, that is the exact view that Paris Saint-Germain have as they look to explore loan options for highly-rated teen duo Adil Aouchiche and Tanguy Kouassi.

90MIN’s Tom Gott reports that Paris Saint-Germain “are facing a battle to persuade” the highly-rated teen duo to stay at the Parc des Princes with both youngsters having made their first-team debuts this season. Both Aouchice and Kouassi’s current deals expire this summer and the powerhouse French side are in talks over extending their deals.

Attacking midfielder Aouchiche has three appearances under his belt for PSG whilst his fellow 17-year-old has impressed in racking up 13 appearances before COVID-19 closed down football across Europe in mid-March.

Their potential and performances have alerted side to them but PSG is hopeful that they can tie the duo down to new deals and an avenue that they are exploring is “to find teams to take the pair on loan next season to try and offer both some first-team football” and that Leeds United are one of the options being considered.
