Where are they now? QPR’s 2014 Championship Play-Off winners starting XI

Six years have nearly passed since Bobby Zamora fired QPR to promotion to the Premier League against Derby County at Wembley.

Here is where the Hoops’ starting XI that day are now-

GK- Robert Green- The former England international ‘keeper retired last May with his last spell coming at Chelsea.

RB- Danny Simpson- The experienced full-back is back playing in the Championship with Huddersfield Town.

CB- Nedum Onuoha- He now plays in America for Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake.

CB- Richard Dunne- The 40-year-old retired from the game in 2015 having played over 600 games in his lengthy career.

LB- Clint Hill- He was a fans’ favourite with the R’s during his time with the London club and is now the assistant manager of Fleetwood Town.

RM- Junior Hoilett- He has lined up against the Hoops this season for Cardiff City.

CM- Joey Barton- He has been the manager of Fleetwood since June 2018 and brought in Hill as his number two.

CM- Gary O’Neil- The 36-year-old was sent off for QPR in the Play-Off final against Derby in what turned out to be his last game for them. He has since played for Norwich City, Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers.

LM- Niko Kranjčar- His last spell came in Scotland with Rangers in 2018.

ST- Kevin Doyle– The ex-Republic of Ireland international has hung up his boots with his last stint as a player coming at Colorado Rapids.

ST- Charlie Austin- He now plays for West Brom and has his sights set on another promotion to the top flight this season.

Sub- Bobby Zamora- He scored a dramatic late winner for QPR against the Rams and retired in December 2016 after ending his career at Brighton and Hove Albion.
