Luton Town skipper Sonny Bradley praises goalkeeper Simon Sluga

Luton Town captain Sonny Bradley has praised his sides’ goalkeeper Simon Sluga, as per a report by Luton Today.

The Croatia international stopper has been impressive in the Hatters’ recent games and has kept three clean sheet in their last six outings.

Sluga, who is 26 years old, joined Luton last summer from HNK Rijeka for a club record fee of €1.5 million but initially struggled during his opening months at Kenilworth Road.

He was dropped by the Hatters’ boss Graeme Jones after some mistakes but has forced his way back into their side.

Bradley has hailed the work of his goalkeeper, as per Luton Today: “I can’t hide from it, he did have a difficult start to the season, but so did a few of us, it’s not just Simon that struggled at the start of the season. I think a few of us struggled to pick up the pace of the league, but now he’s right up to speed.”

He added: “You’ve got to remember, he’s in a different country, he’s in one of the toughest leagues in the country, so he had a bit of a tough start, but it shows he’s got a great character. He could’ve easily, in the first 20 games, gone under but that’s not what Simon’s about. He’s worked even harder on his game, and he makes himself available for every game.”

Luton continue to fight at the foot of the Championship and are six points from safety with nine games left of the season to play. Can Sluga help the Hatters avoid an immediate relegation back to League One?
