According to Football Insider, Lincoln City are set to complete a loan deal to sign West Ham youngster Conor Coventry on loan until the end of the season, bringing him in to bolster Michael Appleton’s midfield ranks.
In his first transfer window as Lincoln City manager, Michael Appleton has already re-shaped his squad somewhat. Callum Connolly’s loan spell was brought to an end before being sent to fellow League One side Fleetwood Town and Irishman Zak Elbouzedi has signed from Waterford.
And now, it has been reported that the Imps are set to bring in another new face imminently. Football Insider has claimed that the club has been putting the finishing touches on a deal to sign young midfielder Conor Coventry on loan from West Ham until the end of the season, shortly after he penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Hammers.
The young Irishman is highly-rated by coaches at West Ham and instead of keeping him in the Under-23s, the club look set to send him out on loan for his first proper taste of senior football. Coventry, 19, has made two substitute appearances for West Ham while starring for the club’s Under-23s side.
In total, he has played 48 times for the Hammers’ Under-23s, scoring once and providing three assists in the process. He has also captained the second-string side on a number of occasions this season, starring in their midfield.
Lincoln are also reportedly close to completing a deal for Arsenal youngster Reece John-Jules, with The Independent claiming the 18-year-old striker is set to join on loan until the end of the season.
