Hull City linked with West Ham United’s Martin Samuelsen

Hull City have been linked with a move for West Ham United’s Martin Samuelsen, as per a report by Hull Live.

The Tigers are in the hunt for more attacking options in this January transfer window and have set their sights on the 22 year old.

Samuelson, who is a Norway international with three caps to his name, has returned to West Ham after a loan spell in his native country at Haugesund. He impressed for the Eliteserien side, scoring six goals and gaining four assists in 28 appearances.

His contract at the London Stadium expires at the end of this season meaning he could leave the Premier League this winter for a fee.

Samuelsen joined the Hammers in 2015 having previously played for Vard Haugesund and Manchester City. He has never played for the London sides’ first team but has been a key player for them at youth levels.

He has also gained plenty of senior appearance out on loan, having also had stints at Peterborough United, Blackburn Rovers, Burton Albion and VVV Venlo in the past.

The current Hull boss Grant McCann managed Samuelsen at Peterborough so there is the link there between the two. The Tigers are chasing down a Play-Off spot in the Championship and have already brought in midfielder Herbie Kane on loan from Liverpool this month.

A move for Barnsley forward Mallik Wilk has stalled as of late meaning Hull could now switch their attentions to Samuelsen instead.
