According to a report from the Daily Mail (as cited by HITC Sport), Aston Villa have made Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara – who has been linked with Leeds United – their priority transfer target after star man John McGinn was ruled out for three months.
As reported here on The72 in the run-up to the January transfer window, Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been linked with a move away from Ibrox, with Championship promotion-hunters Leeds United and Italian giants Juventus among the sides reported to be interested in signing the Finland international this winter.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been a strong performer for Steve Gerrard’s Rangers so far this season, playing 24 times already across all competitions, scoring once from defensive midfield in the process.
And now, it has been claimed that a new club has entered the chase for Kamara. Premier League side Aston Villa have been dealt a serious blow to their hopes of remaining in the top-flight, with star midfielder John McGinn ruled out for three months. Now, it has been reported by the Daily Mail that Kamara is being lined up as their priority target as they look to fill the gap left by the injured McGinn.
Kamara started his career with Southend United before joining Arsenal as a youngster, playing once for their first-team and spending time out on loan with Southend and Colchester United. He then joined Dundee on a free transfer in the summer of 2017, impressing in his 64 appearances for the club before joining Rangers almost a year ago.
Now, with the January transfer window about to open, it will be interesting to see how the rumoured interest in Kamara develops over the course of the next month.
