Nottingham Forest striker could leave club in January

On-loan Nottingham Forest striker Rafa Mir could return to parent club Wolves earlier than expected after a disappointing spell at the City Ground.

The Spanish forward, who joined the Reds on a temporary basis in July 2019, is yet to score for Forest since his arrival in the East Midlands.

He has played 13 times for Sabri Lamouchi’s side but has failed to find the net and has only played 75 minutes of Championship football in the past two months.

Mir, who arrived at Wolves as a future prospect from Valencia in 2018, has failed to make an impact in England and Spanish media outlet El Periodico de Aragon believes the 22-year-old could be heading back to Spain permanently.

The newspaper reports that Real Zaragoza could offer Mir an escape route from Molineux with the club known to be admirers of the Spaniard.

The club tried to sign him in the summer but changed their minds due to his salary. However, it is thought that when the January transfer window opens they will come back in with a new offer to get their man.
