Sky Sports pundit tips Leeds United starlet for ‘big future’

Sky Sports pundit Jobi McAnuff has tipped Leeds United starlet Ben White for ‘a big future’ in the game due to his successful loan spell with the Elland Road club.

Speaking to Sky Sports’ EFL Podcast, McAnuff claims that White has all of the attributes to play at the highest level and compete with some of the world’s best defenders.

White is on loan at Leeds from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion but there has been speculation since the beginning of the season linking him with a move to top flight giants Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 22-year-old has been an ever-present for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this campaign and has forged a great partnership with Liam Cooper at the heart of defence leading to rave reviews from pundits.

McAnuff believes he is capable of playing a much bigger club and said: “I’m going for Ben White as the best young player in the Championship. He’s another young, really exciting talent.”

“He’s really impressed me with how comfortable he is on the ball. He’s really shown a maturity beyond his years.”

“We all know the pressure of playing for Leeds and the expectation from that football club but he’s really handled that. He’s got all aspects to his game. He doesn’t mind a tackle, he reads it really well and has the composure to find that pass and really get Leeds on the go.”

“You look at John Stones, for example, for me that’s the next step for him; getting a move or going back to Brighton and possibly playing there, proving himself at the top level. He’s got all the ingredients to go and do it, that’s for sure.”
