QPR and Brentford join a host of Championship sides in tracking Australian forward

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Championship pair Queens Park Rangers and Brentford are both keeping an eye on the progress of Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes, who has already been linked with a number of Championship sides in the run-up to the January transfer window.

We covered reports here on The72 last month claiming that Livingston forward Lyndon Dykes is on the radar of a number of Championship clubs. Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Cardiff City and Swansea City were all said keen on Dykes in a report from TEAMtalk and now, two new sides have been claimed to be keeping a close eye on the Australian 24-year-old.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Queens Park Rangers and Brentford are both interested in Dykes ahead of the January transfer window, as he continues to excel in a struggling Livingston side. The 26-year-old has scored six goals and provided five assists in 19 appearances across all competitions, picking up one goal in the club’s surprise 2-0 win over Europa League side Celtic.

Livingston currently sit in 8th place in the Scottish Premiership, Dykes is currently the club’s second top scorer in the Scottish Premiership, only behind Steven Lawless who has six league goals to Dykes’ four.

Dykes, who can play anywhere across the front three, started his career in Australia before spending a brief stint with the Queen of the South academy, returning to Australia less than a year later. He then returned to Queen of the South in 2016 and went on to play 136 times for QotS, scoring 24 and providing 32 assists in the process.

Now, with the January transfer window a matter of weeks away, it will be interesting to see if any of the Championship clubs said keen on Dykes act on their interest and look to bring him in.
