Stoke City man wanted by German duo

According to a report from Football Insider, Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye is on the radar of German Bundesliga sides FC Schalke and Mainz, as well as Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.

Michael O’Neill is preparing for his first transfer window as manager of Stoke City, with signings and departures looking likely this winter. One man who has been linked with a move away from the Potters over the course of the first half of this season in Badou Ndiaye.

Ndiaye has been linked with Turkish side Trabzonspor and now, it has been claimed by Football Insider that two German sides are also interested in the midfielder. FC Schalke and Mainz are said to be monitoring the situation of Ndiaye ahead of the transfer window as O’Neill looks to make his mark on his squad.

In doing so, a number of players could depart this January and Ndiaye could be one of them. The Senegal international has started just one match for Stoke since the arrival of O’Neill and could depart as he searches for more first-team football. The 29-year-old has made 13 Championship appearances so far this season with the Potters lingering in the Championship relegation zone.

Ndiaye has been with Stoke City since signing for the club in January 2018, but he was unable to help them stave off Premier League relegation in his first season with the club and his first in English football. He spent last season on loan in Turkey with Galatasaray upon Stoke’s relegation but remained with the club for the first half of this season.

Now, it awaits to be seen if Ndiaye remains with the Potters beyond the end of the month.
