QPR have enjoyed a somewhat mixed start to their Championship campaign, currently sitting in twelfth spot with seven wins and seven losses, QPR are yet to find true consistency under manager Mark Warburton, but keep showing glimpses of promise.
Rangers midfielder, Ilias Chair, has recently been speaking to Walfut regarding the toughness of the opposition within the Championship and the difficulties that causes.
In his breakthrough season with QPR after arriving in England in 2018, Chair has found himself up against some of the best players in the Championship so far, most notably, for him, have been two players who play for the two clubs currently occupying the top two spaces in the league.
Here is the observations of the 22-year old midfielder, who, unsurprisingly, cites two players from the same position as his toughest opponents so far…
“The Championship is very competitive,”
“It is a very tough championship, where the last can beat the first without being surprised.
“If I had to name two (players – Jake) Livermore, of West Brom, and Kalvin Phillips of Leeds United. Two excellent players, who put me in great difficulty.”
In the case of Kalvin Phillips, such praise has not been a rarity this season as he continues to impress week-on-week, but perhaps more of a surprise is that of Jake Livermore, who seems to glide under the radar of vast coverage or praise, but is well worth the choice words from the Belgian.
Do you agree with Chairs comments or have other players shone brighter in your opinion?
