Doncaster Rovers in talks with Arsenal midfielder

Doncaster Rovers are in talks with Arsenal loanee Ben Sheaf over extending his loan.

The League One side want the midfielder to stay with them until the end of the season, according to a report by Football Insider.

Sheaf, who is 21 years-old, joined Darren Moore’s outfit over the summer on a deal until the January transfer window. However, after an impressive start to life in Yorkshire, Donny want to retain his services.

The youngster has played in all but one of their games in the league so far this term.

Sheaf, whose brother Max plays for Hull City, has represented England at Under-16 and Under-18 levels in the past.

He was born in Dartford and started his career at West Ham United before moving to their London rivals Arsenal in 2014.

Sheaf became a regular for their youth sides and earned a place on the bench of their first team in a League Cup tie away to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in October 2015.

He made senior debut for Arsenal to date in a Europa League game against Red Star Belgrade in November 2017 and has since made two more appearances.

The central midfielder gained his first taste of regular first team football on loan during the second-half of the 2017/18 season in the fourth tier with Stevenage.

Sheaf then returned to the Emirates Stadium for the last campaign but is now enjoying his time this term in League One with Doncaster.
