Celtic are the latest team to be linked with a move for Carlisle United prospect Jarrad Branthwaite.
According to Football Insider, the SPL champions have reportedly sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old defender in action with Neil Lennon now pondering whether to make a move for the youngster.
Premier League side Aston Villa have also allegedly registered an interest in the player who broke into the first team in October.
He has since gone on to make six consecutive appearances and hold his place in the side despite Carlisle’s struggles in the Sky Bet League Two this season.
The Cumbrian club are currently 20th and are managerless after recently sacking Scotsman Steven Pressley.
Branthwaite was mainly confined to the bench last season under Pressley before being given the chance to make his mark this campaign.
In total, he has made six appearances in all competitions this season, including four in League Two, one in the EFL Trophy and one in the FA Cup.
He signed a professional contract last year and is a product of the club’s Academy having been born in Cumbria’s only city.
