Sky Bet Championship midfielders of the season so far

We are more than three months into the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season, and it is fair to say the table is starting to take shape.

Reaching the second international break of the season is a big point of every club’s campaign as we prepare to head into December, a month that really can make or break a year.

January is also a difficult time for club’s, as they try to keep hold of their players that have impressed during the first half of the season.

On that note, we take a look at the best midfielders of the season so far, as rated by whoscored.com

Winger – Jarrod Bowen (Hull City) – 7.3

The Hull City winger has made another excellent start to this campaign following a break through season last year. He was linked with a move away from the club in the summer, but stayed and will no doubt be the subject of plenty of transfer rumours as we head towards January.

Central midfield – John Swift (Reading) – 7.4

John Swift has been an ever present in the Reading midfield this season, chipping in with 2 goals and six assists along the way. His passing stats are second to none and that is why he is in this team.

Central midfield – Kalvin Phillips (Leeds United) – 7.4

Kalvin Phillips was linked with a move away from the Elland Road club this summer, but he decided to stay and he is reaping the rewards right now. Leeds United are currently third in the Sky Bet Championship, and Phillips has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Winger – Eberechi Eze (Queens Park Rangers) – 7.5

The 21-year-old is the highest rated midfielder so far this season and has been in excellent form for Queens Park Rangers. He has scored six goals and set up four for his team mates, and it is no surprise he has been linked with a move to a top flight club.
