Swindon Town re-sign ex-Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers and Bradford City right-back

Swindon Town have re-signed defender Paul Caddis on a free transfer.

The experienced defender has signed a short-term contract with the League Two side, as announced by their official club website.

Caddis, who is 31 years-old, has been weighing up his options since he was released by Bradford City at the end of last season and has now put pen-to-paper with his former club after impressing in training over the past couple of weeks.

The once-capped Scotland international joined the Robins in 2010 having previously been on the books at Celtic. He quickly became a key player at the County Ground and helped them win the League Two title in 2012.

Caddis then moved on to Birmingham City in 2012 and spent five seasons with the Midlands club. He scored the goal to keep them in the Championship away to Bolton Wanderers on the final day of the 2013/14 campaign.

The consistent full-back left St Andrews in January 2017 and has since gone on to have spell at Bury, Blackburn Rovers and Bradford. He was part of the Rovers side who won promotion from League One a couple of years go.

He will now be looking forward to his return to Swindon. Their manager Richie Wellens is pleased to have added Caddis to his ranks and has told their website: “He is a very good trainer, very fit and a good footballer as well – and, above all, his attitude is spot on.”
