West Brom star believes side will earn promotion

Grady Diangana has enjoyed an excellent start to life at West Bromwich Albion since joining the Midlands club on loan from Premier League side West Ham.

The Baggies are currently top of the Sky Bet Championship table heading into the international break after six games without a defeat.

They have lost just one game all season, and that came at promotion rivals Leeds United back at the start of October. They’re currently the second highest scorers in the division, and sit two points clear at the top.

Diangana has been one of the standout players for Slavan Bilic’s side after the Croatian manager decided to bring him on on loan. The pair were familar with each other due to Bilic’s time in charge of Diangana’s parent club West Ham United.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the 21-year-old midfielder strongly believes that West Brom have the potential to earn promotion this season.

He said: “The squad that we have, the style that we are playing and they way we are defending I think we’ll definitely be challenging.”

“I’m enjoying my time, and playing week-in week-out, getting game experience and confidence which is important to me at this stage in my career.

Diangana was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but has just reported for duty for the England under 21s for the first time after receiving a call-up. Prior to that, he has represented England under 20s.

There have been reports suggesting that West Ham will recall Diangana in January, but Baggies fans are hopeful he will stay until the end of the season.
