BETTING PREVIEW: Wigan Athletic Vs Swansea City

Wigan Athletic host Swansea City on Saturday lunchtime in an important game for both teams.

The Latics currently find themselves 18th in the Sky Bet Championship table, sitting perilously three points clear of the drop zone.

By contrast, their Welsh opponents have had a good start to the season, and are currently fourth, knowing a victory in Lancashire on Saturday will take them top for a few hours at least.

We have done some research and looked at recent games to come up with three potential bets for the game this weekend.

Here is what we have got:

1) Swansea Draw No Bet (8/11)

The odds on this one aren’t fantastic, but if you are looking for an accumulator booster look no further. The Swans are unbeaten away from home in the league this year, including some impressive victories at Leeds United and Charlton Athletic. They haven’t had the best form recently, but their victory over arch rivals Cardiff last weekend will have given them some confidence. If you’re feeling brave and do not want to include the draw no bet, you can get the Swans to win at 11/8.

2) Swansea to win and under 2.5 goals (4/1)

Bit of a strange one this but there is reasoning behind it. Excluding Wigan’s 2-2 at Bristol City last weekend, their previous four games have all finished 1-0. In fact, before last weekend, there hasn’t been more than two goals in a Wigan Athletic game since September 14. Swansea do score goals, but their form has been off recently so I’m sure they would take a scrappy 1-0 victory. Wigan do not score many goals, as emphasised by the fact that their leading goal scorer is central defender Cheyenne Dunkley.

3) Swansea to win 2-0 (11/1)

This is is a bit more a longshot but there is nothing like winning a correct score bet. In keeping with our previous one, we have gone for Swansea City to win 2-0, and at 11/1 it could certainly be worth a couple of quid.
