Three players Middlesbrough could try to loan using Woodgate and Keane connections

As reported on The72 earlier today, Middlesbrough are looking to the Premier League loan market this coming transfer window.

Middlesbrough’s strikers currently are goal shy, and with the club the lowest scorers in the division, Head Coach Jonathan Woodgate may be looking to bolster his forward line.

The Boro boss and his Assistant Robbie Keane have played for numerous clubs in England, and they could use their connections with their previous Premier League clubs to get a signing or two through the door.

Here are three strikers Middlesbrough could sign on loan in January.

1. Rhian Brewster – Liverpool

Brewster was expected to go out on loan at the start of the season, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp opted to keep the 19-year old at the club for another year.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri are ahead of Brewster in the pecking order, and he could be shipped out on loan to get some valuable playing time.

2. Troy Parrott – Tottenham

Keane and Woodgate played for Spurs together, and both still have an affiliation with the North London club.

One forward who has been making waves in the youth ranks is Troy Parrott. The 17-year old made his debut in the first team earlier this season in the Carabao Cup in the loss to Colchester United and could benefit from a loan deal in the Championship.

3. Keinan Davis – Aston Villa

Davis has featured for Villa a few times in the Premier League so far this campaign, and Dean Smith may not be willing to let him leave the club in January.

However, with Davis now 21 he could want more playing time under his belt, and a loan move to Middlesbrough could prove beneficial for all parties.
