Hull City star ‘taking time’ to decide future with Newcastle United interested in £20million transfer

Hull City star Jarrod Bowen is ‘taking time’ to decide his future with mounting speculation that Newcastle United are interested in a £20million transfer for the talisman according to TeamTalk.

The Tigers are hopeful that they can convince their star man to stay after he admitted to ‘loving life’ with the club.

Bowen increased his stature as he took his goal tally to eight this season after scoring twice in the final 16 minutes to earn a 2-0 victory over Derby County on Saturday.

As well as Newcastle – Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton are also said to be weighing up moves for the winger. Newcastle and Southampton have reportedly already sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old who transfer price is increasing with each passing game.

Burnley are also harbouring interest as well as Championship rivals Leeds United as Bowen becomes a wanted man ahead of the January transfer window.

Bowen is under contract until next summer but the club have an option to extend that by 12 months as long as they do so before March of next year.

When asked about his future, manager Grant McCann said: “Jarrod loves it here. I spoke to him a couple of weeks back about the club wanting to speak with him and he said he loved it here.”

“He wants to play in the Premier League with Hull and it’s as simple as that. He’d love to get to the Premier League with Hull one day, that’s really clear to see.”

“That doesn’t mean he’ll sign a new contract tomorrow. It has to be right for everyone. We’re in no rush. He’s got this year and he’s got next year. It’s not as if he could be leaving soon. Jarrod is focused on his football.”

Despite Hull having the option to extend his contract by a further twelve months they are hoping he will accept a long-term deal to protect his value and retain him for the foreseeable.
