Stoke City starlet pens four-and-a-half-year deal

Stoke City have confirmed on their official club website that right-back Tom Edwards has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with the club, keeping him with the Potters until the summer of 2024.

Since making his debut for the club back in 2018, Tom Edwards has made the right-back slot at Stoke City his own – especially since their relegation to the Championship. The 20-year-old has made 45 appearances for the Potters’ first team, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.

Now, he has committed his long-term future to the club. Edwards has signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the club, keeping him contracted to Stoke City until the summer of 2024.

Edwards spoke to the club’s official website upon the confirmation of his new deal, saying that he is happy to have his long-term future sorted and is now set on getting the club back to where it belongs. He said:

“Obviously I’m delighted to extend my contract. I had time left on my current contract but it’s nice to know that the Club wanted me to sign the new one to keep me here for longer. It’s all about working hard now to stay in the side and hopefully we can get this club back to where we belong.

“When I was coming through as a young lad, I always used to look up to the players and think they were superheroes. I know it might sound silly, but to be playing for the Club myself and to be playing alongside some of them and training with them every single day and learning off them as well, it’s a great feeling knowing that my future is secure here.”
