Blackpool waiting on EFL confirmation for striker’s proposed Macclesfield Town move

A report from the Blackpool Gazette has said that Blackpool striker Adi Yussuf is still waiting to hear from the EFL if his loan move to League Two side Macclesfield Town has been completed.

On transfer deadline day, Macclesfield Town agreed a deal with League One side Blackpool to sign striker Adi Yussuf on loan for the duration of the 2019/10 season. However, the clubs are still waiting to hear from the EFL if the move has been completed.

Yussuf only joined Blackpool earlier this summer, but after the departure of manager Terry McPhillips, he has seemingly been deemed surplus to requirements by Simon Grayson and his new coaching team. Midfielder Jamie Devitt left to join Bradford City after being placed in the same situation as Yussuf and now, the Tanzanian striker will be hoping that his deal can go through.

Since making the move to Bloomfield Road, Yussuf is yet to make his competitive debut for the club, with Armand Gnaduillet and Joe Nuttall starting for Grayson’s side and summer signing Ryan Hardie on the bench.

Yussuf was in strong form for Solihull Moors over the course of the 2018/19 National League season. The striker netted 21 goals across all competitions, playing an important role in the side that earned a place in the play-offs at the end of the season. As a result, he attracted significant interest from a number of Football League clubs.

Yussuf has played for a number of football league clubs, playing for Burton Albion, Lincoln City, Mansfield Town and Grimsby Town, as well as a number of non-league sides.
